The exact origins of these intricate patterns made of glass and wood remain a mystery. Their geometric shapes conceal the energy of life itself, the eternal flow of time, the mysteries and traditions of Islamic art. As I paint these colourful patterns across every nook and cranny of the Shaki houses from the break of dawn until the sun sets on the eternal horizon, only the wooden bindings hold back the green, red, blue, and yellow lights, preventing them from merging in an endless dance of hues.
