Sanssouci elfenbein gold
Lattice work that is entwined with delicate leaf and blossom tendrils. The Sanssouci porcelain service has an extremely elegant look. Inspired by the opulent stuccoed ceilings of the Sanssouci Palace, it was first presented in the 1920s. An extravagant tableware collection that Friedrich the Great commissioned for his Potsdam summer residence was the inspiration for the design. The service proved so popular that it was copied by a number of porcelain manufacturers. Yet it was only Rosenthal which succeeded in acquiring a licence to manufacture the royal porcelain in a form true to the original.
