Perrelet releases a limited-edition of iconic Turbine timepiece dedicated to Azerbaijan
Fans of the Swiss watchmaker Perrelet, along with collectors and aficionados of fine horology have received a special gift: the brand has released a limited edition of its iconic Turbine model, dedicated to Azerbaijan. The watch dial displays the national flag in blue, red and green which is a symbol of pride, identity and patriotism of the Azerbaijani people.
Created exclusively for Azerbaijani market, the Turbine Azerbaijan Edition reflects Perrelet’s deep appreciation for local culture and strengthens the brand’s bond with the country.
Founded in 1777, the Perrelet manufacture combines historical heritage with innovation. The Turbine collection, patented in 2009, has become a canvas for the brand’s creative expressions. In this new model, the rotating turbine blades crafted from black anodized aluminum reveal the image of the flag, creating an effect of motion and depth.
The Turbine technology is inspired by the aesthetics of aviation and marine engine systems. The lightweight turbine, crafted from black anodized aluminum, consists of twelve blades. On the reverse side, five tungsten counterweights ensure that the structure responds instantly to the slightest movement of the wrist.
Although the "turbine" is purely decorative, its assembly requires absolute precision, each element is carefully balanced to ensure smooth rotation without affecting timekeeping accuracy.
The watch is powered by in-house automatic calibre P-331-MH (28,800 vibrations per hour, 42-hour power reserve), developed by Soprod, part of the group owned by Miguel Rodriguez, Perrelet’s owner and president. The movement’s accuracy is certified by both COSC and Chronofiable®.
The central part of the 44 mm Perrelet Turbine case is made of polycarbonate and carbon fiber, while the bezel and case back crafted of stainless steel with black PVD coating. The crown and the signature buckle of the alligator-embossed leather strap are adorned with the letter “P” which is the first letter of the Perrelet logo. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. The same sapphire glass on the caseback allows a view of the movement’s operation and its fine finishing: bridges with circular graining and a skeletonized, rhodium-plated rotor engraved with the Perrelet logo. The inscription Special Edition Azerbaijan is engraved on the caseback. The watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM.
