To celebrate its 185th anniversary, L’Epée 1839 — Switzerland’s only dedicated high-end clock manufacture — unveils the T35, a kinetic timepiece inspired by 1920s–30s race cars. Designed in collaboration with Georg Foster, a British designer and ECAL graduate, the project merges precision mechanics with automotive heritage. Georg developed the concept during his Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship at ECAL, one of the world’s top design schools.
The T35 is more than just a table clock — it’s an interactive sculpture with an 8-day in-house movement. Time is displayed on two side disks, set via a three-spoke steering wheel; the rear wheels wind the mechanism like a toy car. A functional handbrake reveals a hidden gas cigar lighter.
Design features include:
-Visible V8-inspired engine
-Colonial helmet-style glass dome
-Polished aluminum body, stainless steel and palladium-plated parts
-Realistic foam-filled tires
-Limited to 100 pieces in four colors: French
-Racing Blue, British Racing Green, Obsidian Black, and Rosso Corsa Red
-With the T35, L’Epée 1839 celebrates speed, craftsmanship, and the joyful spirit of engineering.
