The Italian Porcelain House Ginori 1735 Debuts at Ambiance

The Italian Porcelain House Ginori 1735 Debuts at Ambiance

Ginori 1735, the celebrated Italian purveyor of porcelain and interior décor, has made its arrival in Baku at the Ambiance boutique.

In 1735, Marquis Carlo Ginori established the Doccia manufactory for porcelain production near Florence, which would eventually bear his name. By the 19th century, the house had achieved widespread acclaim, producing exquisite porcelain pieces in its Pittoria workshops that featured designs based on sketches by renowned French artists. In 1923, Gio Ponti became the art director of the company. His tenure, spanning until 1933 and known as the "Gio Ponti decade," ushered in a new creative era for the brand that culminated in the brand winning the Grand Prix at the Paris International Exhibition. In the 1950s, designer Giovanni Gariboldi consolidated this success when his Colonna collection secured the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award. Since 2013, the brand has been part of the influential global luxury conglomerate, Kering Group.

For nearly three hundred years, Ginori 1735 has stood as the definitive emblem of Italian style and unrivaled craftsmanship, commanding a premier position in the world of luxury porcelain design and manufacturing. Throughout its history, the brand has actively collaborated with outstanding designers, fashion couturiers, artists, architects, decorators, and representatives of the film industry. Distinguished collaborators include product designers Achille Castiglioni, Angelo Mangiarotti, Luca Nichetto, Constance Guisset, artist and decorator Luke Edward Hall, and the renowned fashion designer Alessandro Michele, formerly the creative director of the Italian fashion house Gucci.

Bridging the gap between heritage and innovation, Ginori 1735 creates exquisite collections of porcelain and crystal tableware, flatware, art objects, and souvenirs, alongside furniture, interior décor, lighting, and textiles. The brand also extends its reach into the hospitality sector through the Cafè Ginori concept. The Crown – the logo of Ginori 1735 – stands as an enduring symbol of the synergy between craftsmanship and art, which has defined the brand's philosophy since its inception. Located in Florence, the Manifattura Ginori 1735 is a unique production hub where centuries-old artistic traditions are advanced through cutting-edge technology. Ginori 1735 represents a modern Renaissance, fusing high art with the joys of everyday living. The brand’s aesthetic captures the fresh perspectives of contemporary artists and visionaries, celebrating the diversity of their creative styles and original artistic voices.

The creation of every Ginori 1735 piece involves a multi-stage process. It begins with an original sketch and manual sculpting, followed by casting, glazing, and multiple firings at temperatures reaching 1400°C. The objects are then hand-painted using natural pigments, gold, and platinum, employing a blend of artisanal and industrial decoration techniques. Every item undergoes rigorous quality control, ensuring that only absolutely flawless pieces reach the market.

Ginori 1735’s extensive distribution network boasts mono-brand boutiques in Florence, Milan, Paris, Seoul, and London, as well as corners in prestigious department stores like Harrods in London and specialized multi-brand retailers across over 40 countries in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The Ambiance boutique in Baku is the latest addition to this exclusive list. Furthermore, Ginori 1735 maintains partnerships with several luxury hotel chains and numerous Michelin-starred fine restaurants, while its proprietary e-commerce channel covers over 30 countries worldwide.

Prominent among the collections in the Ginori 1735 portfolio is Oriente Italiano, a line that epitomizes the brand's mastery of color, form, and ornamentation. Spanning dining, tea, and coffee services as well as art objects and home accessories, every piece demonstrates a unique fusion of exotic oriental influences and European style, characterized by precise classical silhouettes, artistic liberty of self-expression, and superior craftsmanship. The collection’s signature aesthetic is defined by the traditional a Garofano floral motif – inspired by Eastern arabesques and the legendary ceramics of Faenza – enhanced by delicate gilded accents.

Beyond Oriente Italiano, Ginori 1735 showcases a range of other collections curated from various chapters of its history, including Labirinto, Catene, Diva, Il Viaggio di Nettuno, and other series. Together, these series reflect the philosophy and DNA of Ginori 1735: a marriage of elegance and creative freedom rooted in artisanal tradition and Italy’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. This vision combines impeccable taste with a contemporary design perspective, defined by bold color choices and the reinterpretation of classical forms and patterns through a prism of modernity. It is this approach that cultivates Ginori 1735’s distinct artistic language – one that is timeless, innovative, and visionary.
